FAQ

If you have any questions other than the ones listed below, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!

Are all wedding events and accommodation at the same venue?

Yes, all wedding events and the guests' stay for Feb 19-20 is at WelcomHeritage Tarangi Ramganga Resort.
Can we stay extra nights at Tarangi Ramganga Resort?

Of course! We have reserved a room block with the hotel for February 18th and 21st, in case guests want to extend their stay. We have made arrangements with the hotel for guests to keep the same room throughout the stay. Please reach out to us and we will share the details on how you can book the extra nights; do not book through any websites.
What weather should be expected for February in Corbett?

The weather in Jim Corbett National Park for mid to end of February is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 25°C and a low of 11°C. Early mornings, evenings, and nights get chilly, so pack light additional layers accordingly.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

All wedding events are outdoors in the venue lawns (have mercy on us rain gods!). Only on the Sangeet night, after 10pm, the party / music will move indoors.
How is it to travel around the national park at night / after dark?

It is best to avoid being on the road at nighttime and after dark since the venue, and the park in general, is among the hills, with small, winding roads. Driving / travelling in the hills in the dark can be tricky.
Will there be a registry?

We are still thinking about it and will keep you updated!
Are there any tips to keep in mind when applying for the e-visa for India?

Apply for the e-Tourist Visa from the Indian government portal. The website can be slow and buggy at times, using Firefox usually works better. Expect the following information to be requested:
  • Parents' place of birth
  • Countries visited in last 10 years
  • Emergency contact in India
  • Passport like photo id (jpg less than 1MB)
  • Passport details scan (pdf less than 300KB – 500KB worked for us)
Applications are usually processed within 72 hours but we recommend applying at least a month in advance.
Please remember to also print the e-visa and carry it with you for the travel, since you will be asked for this at immigration at the airport, at hotels for check-in etc.
When, where and how can we shop for Indian clothes for the wedding?

For non-Indians traveling to India for the first time and looking for Indian wedding attire, you can shop in Delhi or online if you prefer. While there are several markets and places to shop at, we recommend a one-stop-shop mall near us, DLF Mall of India, Noida, where you can find most known outlets and brands present in Delhi NCR. We will be around at the mall on Sunday (Feb 15) afternoon / evening in case you want to plan your shopping at the same time.
If you want to do some online browsing beforehand to acquaint yourselves with Indian clothes, search the following:
  • Women: saree, lehenga, salwar suit, anarkali suit, etc.
  • Men: Kurta pajama, nehru jacket, bandhgala suit / jacket, etc.
Some websites to browse through: Kalki, Aza, Manyavar, Lashkaraa, Andaaz, Aayka.
Should I travel with Indian currency?

Yes, it is advisable to always travel with cash (in Indian currency) on you. Most places in Delhi will accept international cards, and the resort in Corbett accepts international Visa and Mastercards. However, you don't want to be stuck in an emergency, so be prepared!
Is there a different plug type in India?

Yes, the plug type in India is different from the ones in US and Europe; you will need a travel plug adapter. Adapters are widely available in India at the airports, stores, etc. You can also buy online on Amazon or elsewhere from the US or France.
How can we book jungle safaris? Plus, all you need to know.

The national park is home to bengal tigers, asian elephants, deer, monkeys, sloth bears, etc. For transparency, spotting tigers is totally dependent on your luck and keep in mind that tigers are elusive! Sloth bears are even more rare to sight since they keep away from tigers and tend to be nocturnal.

Jungle safaris happen either in the morning (starting at 6-7am depending on season) or afternoon / evening (starting at 2-3pm depending on season).
Please note that the start time is from the entrance gates. You will have to leave your hotel for the safari accordingly, penciling in the time to travel to the appropriate park entrance gate from which your safari is supposed to start. Depending on when you reach Corbett, you can do a morning safari on the 19th as well; we have the morning free that day.

Safari bookings for February have not begun yet and we will keep you updated on details in time. For bookings, non-Indians are required to share their passport details with the booking agent, and Indians their ID proof.
